Saffron

Saffron is a plant. The dried stigmas (thread-like parts of the flower) are used to make saffron spice. Saffron is used for asthmacoughwhooping cough (pertussis), and to loosen phlegm (as an expectorant).Saffron is an important spice used commonly in Mediterranean, North African and Asian cuisine as a colouring and flavouring for many dishes including rice, seafood and meat dishes, soups, pastas, cheeses and liqueurs.
